New accessories new Ford EMC-CS-2009 immunity

July 2010

The automotive standards are changing all the time. While we pride ourselves on having the most flexible solution, sometimes new hardware is necessary. Because we have by far the best power amplifiers, I’m pleased that very little new hardware was needed for this standard – despite the dramatic changes.

NSG 5071

For pulses CI 220 A and C, RI 130 and CI 260 Waveform F, are introducing the NSG 5071, the replacement of the similar NSG 5070, which was designed for the older standard.

  • Max. battery current: 10 A (Standard Ford required relay), 30 A max. with other relay (must be approved in advance by FMC)
  • Outputs: CI 220-A1, A2-2, A2-1, C-1, C-2 / CI 260 Waveform F / RI 130
  • Relay supplied: KUP-14A15-12
  • Inductors supplied: Osborne transformer part number 32416 and 8745

DDS 3005

The DDS 3005 is a USB function generator that outputs the very complicated ring-wave pattern of CI 250 to be generated. It can drive an amplifier directly or using the exclusive modulation function of the NSG 5600 through the FG 5620 modulation input.

There will be some accessories needed initially that will not be available immediately:

Two solar transformers and a resistor see the Standard for details. Please note, the

amplifier that is used will need at least -20 V, so for practical purposes, this is an application for the PA 5740.

We hope that the entire solution will be packaged together in a nice unit in the near future.

We think that these rapidly developed solutions show our commitment to rapid reaction to important standards, and our ability to implement them in a high-quality way. What we do, we want to do best!
